Daniel Boone: Alright action venture detailing a chapter in the life of the legendary pioneer and his leading of some settlers west from North Carolina into Kentucky. O’Brien is well cast in the title role Cast includes George O’Brien, Heather Angel, John Carradine, Ralph Forbes, and Clarence Muse. (75 minutes, 1936)
Downstairs: Crackling, adult drama in regards to a heel who rests and cajoles his way from one prosperous home to a different-utilizing both the mistresses of the homes upstairs and the servants downstairs. Gilbert transfers a bold acting job that more than some other reclaims his maligned notoriety as a “talkie” performer. Cast includes John Gilbert, Paul Lukas, Virginia Bruce, Hedda Basket, Reginald Owen, and Olga Bafamilyova. (77 minutes, 1932)
Bullitt: Definitive McQueen antihero part that he grows to love. As a cop trying to keep is witness alive. McQueen see a lot of bloodshed as the mob is out to kill the man he must protect. Cast includes Steve McQueen, Robert Vaughn, Jacqueline Bisset, Don Gordon, and Robert Duvall. (113 minutes, 1968)
Rhinoceros: Eugene Ionesco entry in “Show of the Ludicrous” makes remorseful shift from the stage to the big screen as sales rep Crazier declines to comply by turning into a mess. Ironweed: William Kennedy adjusted his Pulitzer Treasure-triumphing novel in reference to road individuals, set in Albany, N.Y., 1938.
