Competition Hotting Up In The E-Book Reader Market

At the moment there are an incredible number of manufacturers fighting it out in the emerging, but rapidly growing, e-book reader market. The strong competition is a clear indicator of the high growth level anticipated in this sector. This fierce competition is going to be good news for customers as manufacturers fall over themselves to improve specifications and offer better deals.

The list of major players who have e-book readers in various stages of development – and in some cases, ready for imminent release – is impressive. Asus, iRex, Sony, Plastic Logic, Barnes and Noble – not forgetting Microsoft and Apple – are all queuing up and fighting for their share of the market.

What’s The Best Ebook Reader For You?

With the many options available today, finding the best ebook reader that’s just right for you can be difficult. When you talk of electronic book readers, there are a lot to choose from, coming in all sizes, colors, and features. As with any purchase you make, it’s important to do ample research beforehand and then make a decision based on what you’ve found out. But first, you also have to know what exactly you want from an ebook reader. It’s easy to get caught up in the rave reviews and great features of a certain e-reader, but the question to ask really is – is it what you need?

The most important thing you can do to narrow down the choices is to set a budget. You are going to be spending at least a couple hundred dollars even on the  cheapest of ereaders. But if your budget allows, you can spend up to 1,000 dollars. Don’t always let the features decide which ereader you buy, that is a good  way to spend a lot more and end up with a product you aren’t happy with. Make a budget and stick to it. There are great ereaders in any price range.

Is The M Edge Kindle Cover A Must-Have For Your Kindle?

If you would be spending for about 300 dollars for a particular device, you would like to make sure that you can also get something to protect it. And if you would like to get something that is worth a try when it comes to protecting your gadget, you can check out the M Edge Kindle cover to keep it protected. You can be assured that your gadget is protected from bumps and scratches with its leather pocket and internal pockets which serve as added padding to protect your Amazon Kindle 2 device from any possible damage.

There are certain talks about some leather covers that cause  damage to the Kindle instead of proctecting it. However, this does not hold true for the 45-dollar M Edge Kindle Cover.

How to Choose an Ebook Reader

Almost everything in today’s world has gone digital and with the invention of the ebook reader, so has reading. It’s impossible to have all of your favorite  books with you everywhere you go if you’re still using paper books. But with an electronic book reader you can bring hundreds, even thousands, of books with  you. No matter where you are or how often you travel, you will always have a book to read. The problem most people face is deciding which reader is right for  them. The market is still fairly small, but when you are considering spending hundreds of dollars you want to make sure you get the one that is going to be  just right for you.

If you’re looking for the cheapest price for an ebook reader, you won’t find one that only costs a hundred bucks or so. You would need to spend a little over 200 dollars. With this amount, you’ll be able to purchase a typical ereader which has the basic features. However, this price may not be enough to get one that has a longer battery life and you probably might have to get a more advanced model. For better options, you may have to spend about 500 dollars. One of the advanced models that you may come across is the Kindle DX, which has some of the best features in an e-reader. The more you pay for the device the better features you get. Another high-end alternative that has a lot of add-ons packed in is the Flepia which may costs more than 1000 dollars.

Will the Sony PRS-600 Spell Disaster For the Amazon Kindle?

The Amazon Kindle has been the big boy on the block for a while now, as you might know from reading the Kindle review, but with the release of the Sony PRS-600 and its little brother, the Sony PRS-300, there may be a challenger coming to town. While the details are  still a little sketchy, a few things have been confirmed. Most recently the device itself was confirmed by Sony. However, some leaked details gave a little  bit more information about what they offer. And some of the things these new ebook readers claim to do may have Amazon sweating a little.

As a consumer, the price would be your utmost concern. Kindle 2, which is known for being an older model ever since Kindle DX was introduced in the market, is available for about 260 dollars, while the newly released Sony PRS-600 is nearly at the same price. Looking at a marketing perspective, what Sony is trying to do here is to target consumers who are not willing to spend almost 500 dollars to purchase a Kindle DX but are looking for newer options. Sony claims that they would also be identifying themselves with the 9.99 dollars price for both new releases and best sellers, confirming the company’s intention to compete with Amazon. With their pricing scheme, Sony certainly has a lot to offer.
