What is the Status of the Cable Vs Satellite Tv Rivalry?

There has been a war going on in the television rooms of Americans for many years, even decades by now, to see which kind of television service is really the best: cable or satellite TV? It is a rivalry that has been raging for quite a long time without most people really having the slightest clue as to which service, if any, is pulling ahead of the other in terms of quality and customer satisfaction…well, until somewhat recently that is. Over the last several years there have been various undeniable and very forceful signs of the advance of satellite television over and beyond what cable has been and will be (for the foreseeable future) able to offer its customers. Here, we’d like to do a point by point review of where things stand at the present moment in this age-old rivalry and help modern home television viewers make the smartest possible choice regarding their service.

Connection quality: We’d like to start by recognizing the one area where cable still does hold a comparative advantage over satellite TV, though surely a much smaller one than in previous years. Satellite communications are inherently prone to more interruption and interference than terrestrial cable communications due to storms, clouds, etc.; however, satellite communications have been improved a great deal and the frequency interruptions has been drastically and amazingly reduced to the point where such inconveniences only arise a very few more times than would be the case for a cable customer. Cable companies are desperately holding onto this tiny and increasingly irrelevant point to try to convince people to become new customers or continue to be customers, but it’s not working quite as well as it used to.

Programming variety: This is most certainly an issue where satellite TV has got the upper edge, and there are a few different explanations for this. First and foremost, satellite providers are aware of what variety on TV means because they operate in many more markets, both nationally and internationally, than their cable competitors. Hence, these satellite companies pick up on the best of the best from across the globe and incorporate such programming into their packages, offering up a variety that just can’t be found through any other service-much less cable!

HD: Considering that we are now in the second decade of the twenty-first century and considering that high def television channels have existed for several years already, viewers take this issue quite seriously and demand a good, solid line up of high def channels in their home television package. With a satellite connection they have the opportunity to get over 130 such channels, whereas with cable they will rarely ever be able to get more than 50 or 60…is there really anything more that needs to be said about this issue?

Customer service: Finally, there is the simple though very important issue of how the customer is treated by the provider, and this is an area where again satellite TV companies have got a pretty serious edge over cable. With faster solutions and friendlier staff, satellite providers really do make their cable competitors look bad!

Get a satellite TV connection now and see how much better than cable it actually is! With a satellite direct TV connection at home, you just won’t be able to get anything better!
