Ps3 Not Compatible with My Older Sanyo Plasma?

My dilemma is this…my ps3 works great on my vizio in mantown, but I want to bring it into the livingroom so i can watch netflix with the wife. Problem is the Sanyo will not recieve any video or audio from my ps3. matter of fact the tv says "no signal". Yes I am using an hdmi cable and that same cable works fine with my hdcable box. Ive also gone out and purchased the components for the ps3 thinking that was the case but unsuccessful as well.
Has anyone else run into this issue and can you please help….thank you

Answer:

some older TV require you to select the source – they don't switch automatic, just start acting odd

press the Source or AV button on the remote a few times and see if the picture appears
