Color Problem with Vizio P2 42in. Plasma Tv After "pop:?

Our 4yr old Vizio P42 plasma made a "pop" sound friday night when my wife shut it off. We didn't use it at all on Saturday, but when we turned it on Sunday first there was almost no picture, just black & green shadows of the images.

After I did the screen refresh setting from the TV menu, the picture came back, but the colors were all messed up. When I looked a the settings, the TV menus were the correct colors, but the settings for brightness and color were > 100%. After bringing them down below 100 & turning the TV off & on the picture came back to somewhat normal. However, after trying to adjust the picture with DVE Essentials I still have a yellowish-orange hue to all pictures: DTV box, Xbox, DVD, etc.

All inputs come in thru HDMI through my Yamaha receiver. I even tried bypassing the receiver & going direct from each individual source via the TVs HDMI & still have the same problem. Am I shot with this set? If so, anyone wanna buy a used Vizio for parts?

Suggestion:

Vizio is not a very reliable brand of tv in the market. Just look and see who sells Vizio tv, Wal Mart, Target, Sam's Club and Costco all bargain price department store. You are not going to see them at a major retail store like Best Buy or Fry's Electronic. More than likely you tv will have to be repaired and it is hard to tell without opening the tv. Due to the cost of labor, it is more than likely cost effective in buying a new one than getting it repaired. You can buy a 42" plasma from Panasonic for under $500 at Best Buy. Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has more tv recommended than any brands in the market today. You will not see any Vizio tv being recommended. Plasma is still considered to have the best picture quality of all tvs. My first plasma tv purchased in 2002 is still running strong today (Pioneer 43" model 4330). If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD/LED and 95% of those are off brands. You get what you pay for. I would not recommend a Vizio tv to anyone. Panasonic and Samsung are the top 2 brands in quality and reliability. Hope this will help you out.
