Suggestion:
Any thing panasonic would fit the bill very reliable had one of there original plasma screens since release day and not one problem sd freeview still working and doesn't have the colour running while watching the footie and stuff,
Try this one I've got one good picture freeview (which isn't available in my area yet 
) and its in your price range, i choose out an lcd tv because if you play the odd video game or hook up to a pc burn in is less likely to occur with lcd.
This tv also has 100hz technology so you will keep up with the fastest of images from formula 1 to red bull air race.

LED dont buy it right now if you got the money do it buy a plasma and go with either samsung or sony those are the best brands on my opinion
i would say samsung as ive not had a problem with mine
You can get the Sony KDL-40EX403 (which is a 40" LCD, with built-in Freeview HD) for about £550, if you hunt around.
