Will a Microwave Damage an Lcd Tv if It is Near It?

I live in a dorm room, so everything is very close to each other in my room. Right now, I have my Tv on top of my microwave. The Tv is a normal (old) tv, and when the microwave is running, it causes some problems with the Tv. I am getting a 32" LCD Tv this weekend, and although the Tv will not be on top of the microwave, it will be next to it. To be specific, the left side of the Tv will be about 4-5" from the Aide of the microwave with all of the buttons. I was just wondering if this will mess up the Tv at all when it is off and/or running. Thanks!

Try plugging the micorwave into a different socket.

Sounds like a wiring problem – not enough current to run both appliances.
