Basically I bought nice monitor, problem is in high resolutions I can't see…. At all… and would appear that my money was ill spent since I am having to use it as same resolution as my old one. I tried playing some of my video games at these higher resolutions and I can't. I just end up going back to old resolution I had before got monitor.
The last poster (at least as of this writing) recommended however that I should perhaps take back this monitor and get a large LCD TV due to the dot pitch being lower. Since they are still 1080p and such he said might be good idea.
I am wondering how valid is this option? I game a lot on my computer and is actually why I bought this really nice monitor (that I apparently wasted money on lol).
Like I said I got on couple of my games, switched resolution to 1920X1080 but couldn't play them in that mode (or even close) just due to different things in game being far too small even though game looked 10 times better. I am wondering if my days as a computer gamer are done :/
So is LCD TV an option perhaps or do computer games just look terrible on them? That would mean to throw more money at the problem than I already have O.o
Suggestion:
- As you increase resolution, everything looks smaller. To compensate, you need to buy the biggest screen that uses that resolution natively. This is why the other poster told you to go for a 32 inch TV, it will run about the same price but 32>24 = bigger size picture.
- If you don't/can't return the monitor, you can conpensate by increasing the size of the text in the individual applications, for instance you can hold down CTRL and move your mouse wheel up to increase text size in Internet Explorer and Firefox. You can also tell Windows to use medium or large fonts, and you can tell it to do the same thing with the icons.
- Gaming at higher resolutions will similarly make everything sharper and …. smaller. It also requires much, much more computer power, and unless you have a high end computer and video card it might not be possible for you to play all your games at 1920×1080, regardless of what monitor you hook up to it. Either lower the in-game resolution or, as suggested, use a 32 inch or higher LCD TV that can do 1080p, since it will have a larger picture than a 24 inch computer monitor. I use a 46 inch LCD TV for gaming, by the way.
