I tried to connect my new samsung LCD TV to my 2.1 desktop speaker which has no Sub-woofer.
The problem what i am facing is sound from the speaker was very low. Please Anyone confirm if i go with sub-woofer will it work in good manner.
Suggestion:
If you are conecting the whole thing through a headohone jack make sure your volume for the headphones are not seprate. Check in the tvs sound option menu. Hope this hels, i think this is what you mean.

The only audio output in today's tv is through an optical audio port. This is a digital signal that has to be decoded by a receiver, home theater in a box with an optical audio input or a sound bar. You can not connect any speaker directly to a tv. Hope this will help you out.
