The picture on my Vizio LCD
television is incredibly bright. So much so that most of what appears on the screen is washed out. I've tried adjusting the backlighting and resetting all of the original settings, but it doesn't change anything. Is there anything I can do, or am I looking at a tv that will soon end up in the trash?
Answer:
Without being 100% certain of the solution here, I would simply suggest you try messing with any settings related to Dynamic Contrast. Some sets (at least monitors do) may not show Dynamic Contrast as a specifically named setting, but when using a picture profile for movies, DC can be enabled.

If it within the one year. Have the manufacterer repair or replace it. Considering Vizio uses parts from other outside resources they may not make an attempt to fix it and might replace it. If it is outside of the 1 Yr. then I would suggest looking at buying another TV. Sorry for the bad news, and best of luck to you!
RTFM
there has to be a setting there
