Suggestion:
HDTV is just resolution, by convention 720P or higher. 19" and higher LCD TVs and monitors are usually HD.
Plasma makes its own light in each cell by discharging a gas which excites a phosphor. Plasma sets practically start at 42"
Flat is just that, flat, as opposed to deep, which a CRT or rear projection set would be. Both LCD and Plasma are considered flat display technologies.
LCD gates light from a separate light source, typically LED or fluorescent.
Most Plasma and LCD TVs support a PC connection to be a monitor.
