Is Image Reproduction on a 600hz Samsung Plasma Panel the Same As a Samsung 240hz Lcd?

First, I believe that I understand the difference between a LCD rated with a 240Hz refresh rate and a Plasma sub-motion drive rated at 600Hz. Comparing the two specs is like comparing apples to oranges.

Second, I also understand that the key spec that separates LCD panels and Plasma panels is the response time. According to official manufacturer-published specs I've been able to dig up, I've seen high end LCDs with response times ranging from 2.4ms to 5ms and most Plasmas with response times of 0.001ms. Further, I understand that these differences are intrinsic to the core technology and not necessarily the manufacturer.

Onto my question… When viewing high definition content (1080p BD content, 1080i up-converted SD-DVD content or 1080i HD cable TV content) on modern 240Hz LCD panels using a frame interpolation blur-mitigating feature, the viewing experience is very unique in that video reproduction looks extremely fluid. Some viewers describe this phenomenon as looking "fake," "like daytime TV," or "like home movies."

I am considering purchasing a 600Hz Plasma (specifically the Samsung PN50C550) and I am wondering if video reproduction as I've mentioned above also occurs on modern Plasma panels. Personally, I love this look and whether or not video looks like this will be a deal maker or breaker for me.

Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to offer!

Go to a store and compare it yourself!!
