720p or 1080p Plasma Hdtv?

People are saying you can't see the difference between 720p and 1080p unless you get something 50" and higher, while others are saying everything will be only 1080p soon, so my question is, is there much difference between two entry-level 42" plasma HDTVs, such as these two from Panasonic?

Which would you recommend, or do you know other choices that would be better?

I'm your typical poor college student, so I don't want to go over $1,000 and I'm fine with a 40-42" plasma. I don't watch TV (everything is on Hulu.com) and I just want it to play PS3 and maybe some DVDs/Blue-rays.

Thanks for your help!

Answer:

Cable broadcasts in 720p no matter what kind of TV you have, it is only different if you have a high definition DVD player, blu-ray player, or some kind of gaming system.

1080p, you can actually tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, but if its small and you are watching from far range, there isn't much. I suggest 1080p since its bigger and you can see well from farther away

id go with 1080p.
