Got KIDS? LCD is not kid-proofed, you need to buy a piece of plexiglas to cover the LCD panel to protect it from impact damage.
Also, you can end up with motion blur on fast paced action sequences if your TV doesn't have a 4ms response rate, 6ms is minimal IMO.
Plasma you really don't have to worry about those specs….
As for 1080P and 720P, it really depends on what you watch MOST.
720P is perfect for SPORTS, and games.
1080P is BEST for anything else, like TV shows.
