Multiplayer online games are hot right now and many kids and adults are playing them on their game systems instead of their computers. As many households have a Wii or an Xbox, the common way to play these games is right on the television. This is great if you have a large flat screen but if you dont, you are at a big disadvantage.
Playing on a big flats screen TV is lots of fun and something we couldnt even do five or so years ago. The bigger screen also makes it easier to see what is happening around you and makes it easier to aim accurately as well. If you dont have a flat screen you need to know that almost everyone online playing with you does have one and your chances of competing well and winning are slim without one. Their advantage is just too great for someone on a small set to overcome.
There are other reasons why you might be getting beaten in your online games and that involves the type of connection you have. If you are one of the few without the best connection speeds, the other players will all have a big advantage over you. Some players even have the latest FIOS connection that is fiber optic cable and that it hard to compete against.
Some players may also have better quality flat screen televisions. The newest flat screens have LED backlighting that gives you the best picture yet. LED is really LCD but the technology is a bit different and allows the set to be very thin with a great picture. If you go into a TV store now you can see one of these new sets on display and you will be amazed at the picture quality with or without HD. This is going to be the next big thing in flat screens but right now they are expensive as all new technologies are.
Finally, the players you play against could have some of the accessories that make playing easier. For instance, if you have a WII you can buy a variety of guns that will make aiming easier and more accurate. If you are playing with the normal controls against a field of players who are equipped with the latest gun accessory, their aim may be better and they might be able to maneuver more quickly. Playing multiplayer games online is fun but unfortunately it is not a level playing field for everyone.
