WHAT IS THE BEST 42″ LCD TV FOR THE MONEY?
Have some tax money to buy a new tv. I have been doing research for a while. It looks like I have to choose between off brand with decent hz(refresh rate), or name brand with crappy hz……. I play xbox and watch a lot of sports. What do you guys think?

I'm a very conservative man so dropping a couple of grand on a tv has been out of the question for me until recently. As I've never owned a hi-def set I had a couple of questions.
1. What is the best method of signal input, I see they have hdmi, component, etc.
2. Do I need a home theater package?
3. Do I need a power conditioner?
