Trying to figure out if Plasma’s are better that LCD’s or vice versa is slightly more difficult. It really depends on what you will be using the TV for. Some time ago I have written an article for eHow on this subject and you are welcome to read it.

Looking at the chart will also provide some information:

Suggestion:
I would personally recommend an LED t.v over any of those. LED t.v's have a mega contrast ratio, for example ,the series 6000 led has a contrast ratio of 2 million to 1, and the series 8000 has a contrast ratio of 5 million to 1. When an LCD can have a 30,000 to 1 contrast ratio it depends. I also personally own the samsung led series 8000, and its amazing. When comparing led's to lcd's and plasmas you will see the difference. since led's will have more vibrant colors and darker blacks and whiter whites etc etc. Alot of led's now have a 240hz refresh rate, but some plasmas can exceed that since they can reach up to 600hz refresh rate so the picture wont be so blurry. Another thing about led's is that they are only 1.2" thick so they're super slim comapred to lcd's and plasmas they can be upwards of 4 or 5 inches thick. Led's dont have mercury and are eco-friendly since they waste 30 to 40 % less power than traditional lcd's or plasmas. Now about the price in led's they can be quite expensive but since last year they have dropped about $1,000 in some led series. lcd's and plasmas are also about $1000 cheaper than led's but when buying an led you will be satisfied just like me. OHHH if you decide to buy a LED here are the top brands on them: 1st.SAMSUNG 2nd. SONY they are the top brands in LED's
