Suggestion:
(I'm Icelandic, I'm not perfect in explaining things in english) If you have a LCD and watch or play video games on it in the DARK, the black color doesn't look very black it looks more like dark-gray, but if you watch or play video games on a plasma TV in the DARK the black color looks just like it's black not grayish. This only happens to LCD TVs if you're in a dark room. But it's not really better or worse to play video games on a plasma TV.

Most games choose the LCD due to size and brightness. Plasma size starts at 42" and larger and earlier models had burn in issue. Plasma is still considered to have the best picture quality of all tvs in the market. LCD also had motion blur problem if you had a 60 HZ refresh rate and some had lag time on audio and video. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD/LED TVs and 95% of those are from off brand. Panasonic and Samsung are the top brand for quality and reliability. Hope this will help you out.
lcd
plasma has a tendency to be better in color and quality however it tends to streak when there is alot of rapid movement so for that reason i wouldnt go with plasma for a gaming tv. not to mention lcd isnt as fragile. with a plasma if you turn it on its side to transport it screws the gas mixture so that your tv is permanently broken.
