I'm also looking at LCDs or LEDs. My price range is under $500, and I'm mostly looking at 40 inchers, but of course, that's not firm. I'm flexible.
What's my best option?
Also, I saw some TVs on discount from Sears. I asked the guy if they were display models, and he told me some were, some were returns. They had a nice discounted price. Anything wrong with display models, you think?
Suggestion:
It's OK to buy a return, but I would not buy a display model.
Display models have been on for 16 hours a day, every day, for up to a year, maybe even more. They just have a lot of time on them.
You are not going to get a LED for under $500. So scratch that off the list.
The best of the TV's you mentioned is a Plasma, and you can definately get a 42 inch Panasonic Plasma for under $500. In fact, you can even get a 46 Panasonic Plasma for around $580. (Best Buy)
That's definately what I would do. It's going to have to be 720p in that price range, but since ALL content on Cable and Satellite is 720p (with the exception of DirecTV on Demand) it's not really a big deal.
