Panasonic Plasma Tv Tc-65ps14?

I am looking at the 65" Panasonic TC-65PS14. It is at sale at Costco for 1999. I would like to know what the difference is between this TV and the TC-65PS1. I was looking at the S1 at best buy and really liked it. Now i am shopping around for the best price and i stumbled across the S14. They are both 1080p but is the quality better on the S1? Do they both have the same features? An answer would be greatly appreciated!

Answer:

The 30k contrast ratio was given for panasonic plasma panels that sold in 2007 and part of 2008. The next gen panels after that quoted 40k, so it's probably just a generation behind the panels in stores right now. Not a huge deal, this panel is probably a special deal for costco, hence the last generation panel, or it's just new old (NOS) stock. If the price is way better than what bestbuy is charging for the S1 go for it.

But you know what I would do? Wait! Panasonic's new 2010 'S' line or S2s are coming in the spring. The 42, 46, 50 and 54s are official and prices seem to be about what the s1 models were when they came out. The 65 will come later, most likely summer or fall 2010. It's not only going to have blacks that are a tiny bit better, but it's going to be brighter which is more important to me since these panels have nice blacks for the money.

They are almost same features. The only difference that I found is TC-P65S1 come with more Native contrast 40,000:1 while TC-65PS14 come with 30,000:1
