Suggestion:
Go online to Home Theater Magazine and read the reviews on tvs, along with the pro and con of Plasma and LCD/LED tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a Plasma tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Samsung, Sony and Toshiba (the other top brands) does not (April issue). Other brands like LG, Sharp, Sanyo and Vizio (the next top 4 seller) did not even get mentioned. If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are off brands. Last July issue it featured a Panasonic 42" Plasma model G10 to a Sony, Toshiba, LG and Vizio 40" LCDs. The Panasonic was the top choice and the only model that was a THX (higher standard for video quality) certified. Hope this will help you out.

What is your budget.
If you budget is $700 and below goes for Panasonic Plasma, if budget is $1000 you could find Samsung LED at that price.
I would go with Plasma. It has a very wide viewing angle, and bright..The LCD and LED types tend to have a far less acceptable viewing angle. Depends on the type of backlighting in LED also. Just go to a store and look at a plasma and walk from side to side off center.. I think you will see what I mean. Compare that to an LCD or LED…
