– Resolution; if you want it for blu-ray and screen size over 40 inch 1080p is the best but for under 40 inch screen 720p is enough
– Dynamic contrast ratio; higher contrast ratio will give you better picture
– Response time; less response time value will give you better response
– Refresh rate (Hz) more Hz provide smoother motion, reduce blur
– Number of connection port that you want
Good quality brand that I would recommend is Samsung, Sony or Panasonic.
