Suggestion:
Before you decide on a 3D TV, here's something to consider that I haven't yet seen on this forum. If you're interested in the best possible picture clarity, like you'd see from a 2D Blu-ray disk on a standard 1080p TV, you're not going to get there with the current 3D technology.
Here's the problem: to simulate a sensation of depth, it's necessary to project two images on the screen at the same time, one for each eye. On a 1080p TV, there are 1920 pixels on each row of the display. With a standard 2D picture, all 1920 of them comprise the image.
But since the 3D set needs to display two images simultaneously, with the electronic glasses switching back and forth between the two, each image consists of only 960 pixels per row, not 1920.
That's still an HD picture, but it's closer to what you'd see in 2D on a 720p set than on 1080p.
This is probably a minor issue for many TV buyers, but if the best possible picture quality is part of what you expect for the high price you pay for 3D, it isn't going to happen. At least, not yet.
