How Best to Connect a Internet/laptop to an Lcd Tv?

I just got Netflix, and I am looking for the easiest/cheapest way to stream videos off the site on my TV. I have a Sony Bravia LCD TV that is brand new, purchased around Xmas. Everything that Netflix suggested involved spending at least $80 or more to buy streaming players or Blu Ray equipment, but I'm sure there must be a cheaper solution.

Answer:

That all depends on a few things. If your TV and computer are near each other, you can stream video from your computer to the TV. It all depends on what video jacks your TV and computer have. There is no doubt that your TV has a VGA video connector (15 pin, D shaped). If your computer has one too, you just make the connection with a VGA cable. If not, then see if your computer has a DVI video connector. For that, you need a DVI to HDMI adaptor to make the connection. In both cases, you will have to run a separate audio cable. (Line out or headphone out of the computer (green jack) to the red and white audio connectors on the TV. Radio Shack sells the cable for this.)

just buy a monitor cable from any computer store.and hook up the laptop to the back on the LCD. you should have a PC input. ive been doing that for a long time. thats is how i have my home media computer hooked on my 52 inch screen. its nice and sharp. it will cost you around 10-15$ for the cble that is it. and you can surf the net and chat on ur computer. just buy a wieless keyboard and mouse. ( i have a keyboard with built in trackball i bought for 60$). and ur golden.i watch youtube on my tv ..

Unless your laptop has a Video Out jack then you might just have to figure out a different way. If it does have a video out, then buy a converter cable that goes from Whatever-your-laptops-video-out-is to HDMI or whatever's on your tv.
